Priceline Hotel: 4* Boston (Waterfront-Convention Center) Westin Waterfront

I've never posted before, so bear with me....

We hoped to stay in a 4* in downtown Boston...while I preferred Cambridge, we didn't include it in our list. We would probably have done a little better if we added Cambridge.

We are staying Saturday the 28th of Aug thru Monday the 30th (2 nights)

The 4 areas we shot for were:

-Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial

-Boston Harbor Front - Aquarium

-Copley Square - Theatre District

-Boston Waterfront - Convention Center

My bid history (All with only 4* selected):

$99 Quincy Market

$105 - Added Harbor Front

$109 - Added Copley Square

$114 - Added North Cambridge - Arlington (only 2 & 2 1/2 * in that area)

$119 - Added Fenway Park (only 1* in that area)

Started over with a different combination of areas:

Since $129 was the cheapest 4* on Hotwire (in Cambridge), and all of the others were much higher ($175 and up), I went with $129 and got stubborn! :)

$129 in Quincy, North Cambridge/Arlington (max at 2 1/2*), and Medford/Somerville (which maxes out at 3*)

$129 - Added Harbor Front

$129 - Added Copley

$129 - Added Waterfront -

and won the Westin Boston Waterfront. :o

Total Costs:

Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $129.00

Number of Rooms: 1

Number of Nights: 2

Room Subtotal: $258.00

Taxes and Fees: $47.80

Total Room Cost: $305.80

Priceline Retail is $211 per night + taxes & Fees

Westin's Website also has bookings at $211 + taxes & fees.

So, we saved about $200, or 40%. I can be happy with that! :)
