actraveler Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Hi Guys,Need your help on this one.Need 2 rooms, 1 Night.Tried as follows-4* South Lake Tahoe NV $50, rejectedThen, added South Lake Tahoe CA, up to $55, rejectedThen, added 3.5*, $57, rejectedDid not want to lower to 3*. Can get 3* Horizon Casino direct for $55 on their website. How much of a premium should I add when I retry tomorrow. Hoping for Harvey's or Harrah's.Used PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.BTW, least expensive 4* on HOTWIRE is $94 and they have a 3* for $69, but I'd like help ID-ing those first. Thanks,Halactraveler
thereuare Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Given the $55 3* property you can book direct, and the $94 HOTWIRE property... how high would you be willing to bid for a 3.5* and 4* respectively on PRICELINE for an 'unknown' property? With this information we'll be able to suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
actraveler Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Iwould be willing to go up to, let's say $69/night.I found the same 3* for lower on Hotels.com ($50) but the reviews of that hotel are AWFUL, and I won't risk staying there. I believe it's th same 3* hotel people have receieved through PRICELINE & HOTWIRE.Hal
thereuare Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 At both the 4* and 3.5* levels you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* South Lake Tahoe NV...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $63, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $66, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $69If the above is rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE.Try again but at hthe 3.5* level.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

So my max of $69 + the PL Service Fee would have been just about the same, but I didn't have to keep bidding. Thanks for the help.Hal
