quackster Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 I've found Distrikt Hotel on HOTWIRE and am wondering if it has been won on PRICELINE
thereuare Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! This property has not yet been reported to the board thru a PRICELINE purchase. All hotels reportd to the board would be found in our Priceline Hotel List. What is the price of the HOTWIRE hotel? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
quackster Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Distrikt is listed on HOTWIRE at $239. That is about the maximum I want to pay. I travel to NYC every year or two and have never paid more than $140. Usually at the Paramount and most recently at Hotel 57. Prices have climbed steeply in the last 2 years. (Yes I'm using the Better Bidding links to HOTWIRE and PRICELINE)
AaronJB Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 The Distrikt may not be participating with PRICELINE; are you are interested in other hotels, and if so, which zones would you be interested in bidding on (Chelsea only?)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
quackster Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 I will be going to a LOT of theater so I want to be not too far from Times Square. I will continue to look at Times Square, Chelsea, MTC. MTE can get me a liitle farther away than I'd like to be, as can Empire Stae area. I think I will keep an eye on the prices since I still have 3 months. I'm hoping mid Nov. might slow down.
thereuare Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 I travel to NYC every year or two and have never paid more than $140.Do you usually travel this time of year and/or in November??Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. quackster Posted August 22, 2010 Author Report Posted August 22, 2010 Do you usually travel this time of year and/or in November??Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. The last time was 2 yrs. ago in Nov. Stayed at Hotel 57. They were under renovations which may be why it was such a good rate at that time. Also the Paramount used to be much more reasonable. I think they have also done a lot of redecorating judging by the photos on their website. It was getting a little run down the last time I was there. Is November typically a higher priced time of year?
quackster Posted August 22, 2010 Author Report Posted August 22, 2010 Well I just booked on Hotwire (using the Betterbidding HOTWIRE link). Thought I would be getting the Distrikt Hotel. Listed on HOTWIRE at $229, NO AMENITIES. Ended up with The New Yorker Hotel which on the BetterBidding Hotel list has Restaurant, Fitness, and Internet. I am a little disappointed but understand fully that there are no promises on HOTWIRE and it is a chance. The New Yorker looks fine but be warned that their list of amenities has changed.
quackster Posted August 22, 2010 Author Report Posted August 22, 2010 Just booked the New Yorker Hotel. Amenities on Betterbidding are Restaurant, Fitness and Internet. Hotwire listing has NO AMENITIES. Sounds like Distrikt Hotel. I'm sure the New Yorker will be fine and I understand there are no guarantees on Hotwire. Just be aware that listings are not always consistant.
AaronJB Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Sorry to hear you didn't get the Distrkit, but nice rate for the Ramada Plaza.Thank you for letting us know about the new amenity set for this HOTWIRE property so that we can update the site's Hotwire Hotel List for the state.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's HOTWIRE link.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 Sorry to hear you didn't receive the hotel you were hoping for. While this is not the Distrikt Hotel, at least the New Yorker has received great reviews since their recent renovation and is a decent discount vs. a conventionally booked room for these nites. Hopefully you will be able to make this work for your plans this trip.Thank you for using the HOTWIRE link on the board to begin your purchase and for helping us add this new amenity combination (or lack thereof) to the Hotwire Hotel ListEnjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
