Distrikt is listed on HOTWIRE at $239. That is about the maximum I want to pay. I travel to NYC every year or two and have never paid more than $140. Usually at the Paramount and most recently at Hotel 57. Prices have climbed steeply in the last 2 years. (Yes I'm using the Better Bidding links to HOTWIRE and PRICELINE)

I will be going to a LOT of theater so I want to be not too far from Times Square. I will continue to look at Times Square, Chelsea, MTC. MTE can get me a liitle farther away than I'd like to be, as can Empire Stae area. I think I will keep an eye on the prices since I still have 3 months. I'm hoping mid Nov. might slow down.

Do you usually travel this time of year and/or in November??

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

The last time was 2 yrs. ago in Nov. Stayed at Hotel 57. They were under renovations which may be why it was such a good rate at that time. Also the Paramount used to be much more reasonable. I think they have also done a lot of redecorating judging by the photos on their website. It was getting a little run down the last time I was there. Is November typically a higher priced time of year?

Well I just booked on Hotwire (using the Betterbidding HOTWIRE link). Thought I would be getting the Distrikt Hotel. Listed on HOTWIRE at $229, NO AMENITIES. Ended up with The New Yorker Hotel which on the BetterBidding Hotel list has Restaurant, Fitness, and Internet. I am a little disappointed but understand fully that there are no promises on HOTWIRE and it is a chance. The New Yorker looks fine but be warned that their list of amenities has changed.

Just booked the New Yorker Hotel. Amenities on Betterbidding are Restaurant, Fitness and Internet. Hotwire listing has NO AMENITIES. Sounds like Distrikt Hotel. I'm sure the New Yorker will be fine and I understand there are no guarantees on Hotwire. Just be aware that listings are not always consistant.

Sorry to hear you didn't receive the hotel you were hoping for.

While this is not the Distrikt Hotel, at least the New Yorker has received great reviews since their recent renovation and is a decent discount vs. a conventionally booked room for these nites. Hopefully you will be able to make this work for your plans this trip.

Thank you for using the HOTWIRE link on the board to begin your purchase and for helping us add this new amenity combination (or lack thereof) to the Hotwire Hotel List

Enjoy your stay.
