I'm impressed the administrator stayed at my selected hotel. I'm going to stay there 9/9 and 9/18. I was wondering if there is anything I should know and how I can get bumped to a higher floor? extra money$$$?? or how should I ask? Lastly, no one seems to comment on the restaurants... Hakone was suppose to be a good restaurant any comments?

Thanks.

This is a very nice hotel on the outskirts of Waikiki Beach. Priceline/Hotwire guests are assigned rooms on floors 5-9. I had asked for a room as high up as possible and was given a room on the 6th floor directly above the pool. As this was a 5 nite stay I asked to be moved to something higher (saying that the noise from the pool might disturb our baby during her naps) and was switched to the same room on the 9th floor. This room was identical except it contained a larger desk with more business amenities… a fax/printer and second phone line for fax/data. Request for a king bed was given without any problem.

The hotel runs a shuttle to four points in Waikiki approximately every 30 minutes until 10pm… a little less frequently between the hours of 3:30-6pm. Do arrive a few minutes before departure as at times it did leave earlier than scheduled. We took the shuttle about 3 times during our stay and each time ended up walking back to the hotel, so it’s not that far if you enjoy walking.

Room was well appointed with a comfortable bed, a view of the water/marina (as do all rooms at this property), refrigerator, and safe. The refrigerator was stocked each day with a few bottles of water which we drank and were not charged for, but I don’t know if this is typical or because we joined the “Prince Preferred” program. Local calls were listed at .75/each but we were not billed for any local calls, so again not sure if this is a perk of the PP program or if they don’t charge for them. Another user stated that self-parking is free for PP members but this is not (no longer) the case and is $12/day with in/out privileges.

Pool area is on the 5th floor and was a little cold for my tastes. A small hot tub is also there… both overlook the marina.

All staff members were pleasant and well trained. The concierge was very good with directions, but wasn’t able to offer any worthwhile dinner recommendations. Overall, a great hotel if you don’t need to be directly in the center of the city. We would welcome to the opportunity to stay here again.

No reason to be impressed... they let anybody in there :)

You can try at check-in asking if there are any complimentary upgrades to a higher floor available, and if you're told no, then ask if a higher floor is available for an additional fee. However, while a higher floor may be a bit nicer, all the rooms here face the water so i don't think you'll gain too much if you're on a higher floor. However, i do recommend taking an elevator ride to the highest floor as the elevators are glass on one side and face the city... so there you will get a very nice view.

I didn't eat at the hotel restaurant so i can't comment.
