Hotwire Hotel: 3 Adults vs. 2 adults and 1 child

I'm going to DC in April or May. There will be 3 adults in our room so I need 2 beds (which Hotwire allows for now from what I've read). When I checked prices for "3 adults" they were one price, when I changed the search to 2 adults and 1 child the rates dropped dramatically, about $50 per night!

Do you think I could get away with booking "2 adults and 1 child?" My cousin is 22 but maybe she can pass for 16? LOL!

PS - I am looking at Westin Embassy Row or Grand Hyatt in DC. April 22-April 24.

I'm not seeing the same dramatic rate changes that you are, but in theory, i would just book 2 adults and 1 child, and only have one person go up to the desk during check-in while the other two 'consider' the menu at the restaurant, check out the fitness center, or some other task that takes place other than the front desk.
