Sunapee Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 I'm trying to get a room for 8/27-8/29 in downtown Chicago in either the Loop or the North Michigan Ave./Magnificent Mile area, preferably 4*.I started with 4* at $80. RejectedThen added 3.5* at $75. RejectedI think I might wait until tomorrow when I can just bid up to $90 or so. Any suggestions? Are two nights worse than one night?I tried to do this on 8/13-8/15 as well and struck out so many times that it was cheaper to use another site (I booked the Hyatt Regency for $120 at easyclicktravel.com). I was bidding on Priceline up to $110 and kept losing. Am I doing something wrong?

Sunapee Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Just tried $105 for Chicago, NMA/River North, Millennium Park/Loop, 4*Rejected, but asked if I wanted to up my bid instantly by $20 to $125. It looks like I am getting close, since I started bidding around $90 a week ago. I may try to bid up to $110 or $115 tomorrow and see what happens.
