Priceline Hotel: How to book George Washington Hotel (Winchester, VA)

Hello,

My first wedding anniversary is coming up, and I was hoping to book a night or two at the George Washington Hotel (a Wyndham property) in Winchester, VA, as that is where we spent the first two nights of our honeymoon, before flying to the Caribbean. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to all but ensure that I get that exact hotel using Hotwire or Priceline? I booked using Hotwire last time, but I think it was listed as a 3.5-star hotel then, and was the only of its kind. It appears to be a 3-star on Priceline (with at least one other of that rating in the area), but I'm not sure about Hotwire (I saw one 4-star and at least one 3-star, but no 3.5-star this time). Also, is there any listing of the star ratings that would be used by Priceline and Hotwire for individual hotels, or a universal rating system? Or maybe there's nothing uniform, and you just have to kind of guess a little?

As per the replied to each of your posts asking this same question :) , you can't bid on a specific hotel.

With HOTWIRE you can take an educated guess based upon the amenities shown before your purchase, but still no guarantees.

You can see HERE that the current PRICELINE rating for the George Washington is 3*. This property has never been reported to the board thru HOTWIRE so i don't have a guess as to what it would be rated thru their service.

Bottom Line: If this is the only hotel you're willing to accept, then you would be best to book it direct. If you're able to be flexible in the hotel you receive, then PRICELINE and HOTWIRE can probably save you some money.
