broncos01 Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 Am posting a trip that was completed a couple weeks ago to San Diego for 2 rooms. Wanted to stay in Gaslamp/Downtown area or Coastal. I usually start at 4 Stars in this region because I know that I will get a top name hotel and won't be too disappointed. Began my Bidding at $80 using Coastal, then changing areas and increasing my bid by $5 for areas I knew didn't have 4 star hotels using your listing. After I got to $105, priceline said I could increase to $121 and get my hotel. I did it thinking it was probably the Marriott Gaslamp. Ended up being the Westgate Hotel. Wasn't my first choice, it's an old victorian style hotel right in the heart of gaslamp...but no pool and no self park, and they charge priceline bidders $20 extra if you need double beds. I needed them since the second room had my mother and girlfriends mother staying in it. I've never heard a high end hotel do this but oh-well.
AaronJB Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 Nice rate for these dates, although sorry to hear that the result wasn't what you were hoping for.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
