Olwyn Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 HI Everyone! We are taking a cruise on October 9th, and will have a total of 8 family members travelling to Ft. Lauderdale for one night pre-cruise and 2 nights post.Would love to have the opportunity to stay in a 4 star property, but am concerned that with 8 people, what if someone has to back out of the reservation within the next 7 months? Unlikely but possible.Want 2 double rooms to house all 8 of us.Any suggestions?Should I leave it later to bid on Hotwire? Thanks so much.Olwyn :)
Olwyn Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 HI All,We want a hotel ON the beach, not near the beach....Is there any way to tell, one way or the other??Thanks!Olwyn :)
thereuare Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I'd be more concerned about the money for the cruise itself than i would about the hotel room (which will pale in comparison). If this is a concern of yours than you should wait to bid it closer to your arrival date. I'll forwarn that with Priceline and Hotwire you can't select bed type beforehand, so there is a bit of risk from that perspective, but in Ft. Lauderdale they're used to accomodating families and it should (hopefully) go smoothly. Are there 8 adults or are some of them children?Let's handle your pre-cruise stay in this thread and please start a new thread for your post-cruise stay.HOTWIRE has what is believe to be the AmeriSuies for your pre-cruise stay for $65/nite. This is what i woudl opt for on the pre-cruise part of your stay... number of beds shouldn't be a problem given room configuration and pull-out couch, free breakfast in the morning, and you probably won't have too much time to utilize all the amenities of a higher class hotel. Those are my thoughts and advice... what do you think? If you book this please use ths HOTWIRE to begin your purchase. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
thereuare Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 On HOTWIRE look for the Beachfront icon (without an arrow) rather then the Near Beach icon (which has an arrow). What are the dates and location of your stay?
