Julia123 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Well, planning my first trip to Montreal/Quebec next weekend. Thanks great help from this website, I got $89 for August 20 at Delta Centre-Ville through Hotwire, $90 for the August 22 at Hyatt Regency Montreal. However, we are planning stay at Quebec downtown area for the night of August 21 without any luck under $100. I even lower the ranking to 2.5 star. My ideal hotel is the Best Western City Centre, which quite a lot bidders got it as low as $60, but I couldn't get it at $95. Poor me! Do you guys think if I try another day, there is a chance they lower the price? Thanks!

thereuare Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 Thanks for sharing your previous wins!Quebec is expensive for summer weekend, and the date you're trying for rates at the Best Western are $210/nite... so a win at $60 (or even $95) doesn't appear to be likely. Even HOTWIRE's opaque rates start at $145 for a 3* and go upwards of $169/nite. The 3* offered at $145/nite with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet does match previous reports for the Best Western City Centre so that would be my best guess for this one, but don't if you're willing to pay $145 for it... or would prefer to try for a better rate for any 3* rated hotel by bidding higher than you have already via PRICELINE.Current thoughts? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Julia123 Posted August 17, 2010 Author Report Posted August 17, 2010 Started bidding two days ago for a 3 star hotel room from $60 till $95, no success. As thereuare said, this weekend for Quebec city is very expensive. Last night, tried $105 failed again. This morning, used husband's name and credit card to rebid, got accepted on $108 at Best Western Centre-Ville. Not a best rate for this hotel, but I'm still happy with the result--still much cheaper than the best listed price on all websites. Now I'm done with hotel hunting for my this weekend's Montreal/Quebec trip-- three nights will stay at three different hotels :) :o Big thanks to betterbidding.com for helping me get good deals. I will come back next time when I need a hotel room and will always start my PRICELINE or HOTWIRE search from here (click, click :) )!!Good luck everyone!
