Is there an explanation as to why the price changes with the amount of people in the room?

For Example: 2 Adults, 1 child the rate is $231.00 as listed above

If I put in 1 Adult, 1 child, the rate drops to $181.00 (same dates)

and if I put in 3 adults, 1 child, or 2 Adults 2 Child the listing does not appear at all. (My parents may join my daughter and I that weekend, so there may be a total of 4 people in the room)

This hotel has not yet been identified.

The rate changes because many hotels charge extra for more than double occupancy... it encourages guests to book an second room instead of having quad occupancy, and they also feel that their costs increase (soap, shampoo, towels, wear and tear, etc) so they should charge more.

Sorry for the late update. I decided to book directly with the hotel's central reservation desk as the location would be much more convenient for my elderly parents. Thanks for your help.
