cloakscott Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Any idea what this might be?7/2/05 - 7/6/053.5*Selected amenities include: Boutique Hotel, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center.$91
zbenye Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 A new boutique hotel opened yesterday in the Embarcadero zone: Vitale (a Joie de Vivre Hotel). It is rated 4 stars on Expedia. It has a restaurant and a spa. This spa might include a fitness center and a pool? This is just an uneducated guess. I visited the lobby and restaurant and found them unremarkable. The building (new) is plain, even ugly. Haven't seen rooms. For the $239 Expedia wants for your dates, choosing the Park Hyatt ($191) over this one would be a no-brainer (for anyone booking conventionally).
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! This hotel has not yet been identified, but the Harbor Court seems like a very good guess. If you go for it please let us know the results, and please start your purchase using this HOTWIRE link.Good Luck, let us know whatever you decide. cloakscott Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 Thanks for the info. I too thought it might be the Harbor Court. The reason I am looking at other places than the Park Hyatt is that I want a pool. But is it pretty certain that the 4.5* for $113 on that date with "Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Business Center. " is the Park Hyatt? What about the 4* for $92 with "Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Business Center."Is the protocol for multiple questions to post multiple topics or is this ok? THanks.
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Protocol (thanks for asking) is to keep all thread for the same date in the same thread. What is the point of trying to figure out the 4* above if it doesn't have a pool, which it appears is what you are looking for?Have you considered other neighboring zones where there might be more selections with a pool? cloakscott Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 Well, a pool isn't a 100% necessity, still trying to decide on it, but it would be nice. :)I'm guessing that 4.5* is Omni or Park Hyatt and the 4* is Hyatt Regency, does that sound right?
cloakscott Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 Well we decided to do the 4.5* in Embracadero for "Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Business Center." We got the Park Hyatt. It is a customer favorite and was $114 per night. We used the GIFTCARD06 coupon (and your HOTWIRE link :)) as well.
thereuare Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Glad to see you got a good deal on a hotel and one that you are happy with! It's always nice when things go smoothly and as expected.Thank you for using our links to begin your purchase.Enjoy your stay. cloakscott Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 Ah, is it bad protocol to include the customer reviews?
BEAV Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Glad you got the Park Hyatt for such a great price. It almost *never* comes up on Priceline anymore because of the host of other 4* hotels within their USE zone. As to the 3.5 boutique, it's a toss up wether it's the Harbor Court or Hotel Vitale. I tend to lean towards Vitale for the express reason that I follow this particular zone all the time on Hotwire. Until now, we've never seen a boutique hotel display in this zone. And since the Harbor Court is long established in the zone, while the Vitale just opened last week, I would tend believe it's the Vitale.
