Hotwire Hotel: NYC with Children

Hi,

First time here. Planning a last minute trip to NYC with a family of 4. 2 adults and 2 kids (7yr,6yr) for check-in on 08/15/2010 and checkout 08/17/2010.

First option would be to stay in NYC, somewhere central because of the kids and to save time. Would like a pool, because it forecast to have T-showers. Which areas should I choose on priceline or hotwire and how should I increment a failed bid.

Second option, is to stay in NJ where it is close to transit to NYC. Would like a pool, because it forecast to have T-showers. Which areas should I choose on priceline or hotwire and how should I increment a failed bid.

Any other advice appreciated.

Thanks :)

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

A few notes:

One cannot guarantee a pool or other amenity when bidding on PRICELINE. The other issue is that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy/1 bed. HOTWIRE would be a better choice in that you can try to ID a listing with a pool icon and enter that your party is 2 adults/2 children.

Which areas would you be interested in staying within, and what would be your desired max budget per night?

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Hi AaronJB,

Interested in MTE and MTW. Max budget per night would be between 135$ to 185$, like some winning bids recently..

Thanks

Please start by reading your messages.

Searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children (i think using PRICELINE for quad occupancy in NYC is risky) there is a 3* hotel in the Midtown Central zone for $195 with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Internet which i'm guessing is the Holiday Inn Midtown at 57th St. This is just over your listed budget but it does have you directly in the city and does have a pool (a rarity in NYC).

There is also a 4* hotel offered in Jersey City for $145/nite with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Internet, Business which i'm guessing is the Westin (with a slight chance of it being the Hyatt)... both are close to a PATH station and as the icons indicate have a pool.

Both the Hyatt and Westin are probably a bit nicer as the star rating indicates, but it probably comes down to cost vs. convenience.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
