janie7850 Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 3* Westchester County (Rye-White Plains) Crowne Plaza, $60 ... 8/4/10-8/5/10 I stayed at the 3.5* Renaissance Westchester at the end of July and the very next week I had to go back to White Plains. I bid on 3* hotels in White Plains because I wanted a better price and location. I was hoping to win the Crowne Plaza. I saw a hotel on Hotwire that matched the Crowne Plaza for $75 so I thought I had a good chance of winning it. Before I started bidding I checked the website for the 3 *Residence Inn in White Plains and they were sold out. I was glad they were sold out because I didn't want to win that hotel because they don't have a pool and my daughter wanted a pool. I then went to your website to access Priceline. My first bid was $60 and I won the Crowne Plaza. The hotel website price was $199. I was very happy with the price of $60 and the hotel was much more centrally located right in the middle of White Plains. It was close to where I needed to be. The week before, the Renaissance was hard to find and I had to go around in circles to get there and I vowed to never go back there because of the location even though the hotel was beautiful. The Crowne Plaza was renovating the Lobby so it didnt look that great but I was happy with the price of $60 and the location. The room was very nice. They gave me a room with two double beds no problem and they gave me a rollaway bed for free. Parking was $10 but in and out is free with your room key. The parking lot entrance is in the same driveway as the hotel driveway and you can drop your bags first on a gold rolling cart before parking. There is an entrance to the hotel lobby in the parking lot so its very convienent. They had a free shuttle to the train station and the airport. We took the train from White Plains into Grand Central and the kids loved it. The pool was ok and the kids loved the mall nearby and McDonald's around the corner. Free coffee in the Lobby. If I was traveling to White Plains again I would stay at the Crowne Plaza and not try for Tarrytown or the 3.5 star hotels because of the location, the free shuttle and the low price. Thanks for your bidding help and I always come to this site to access PRICELINE.
