Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Chicago (Millennium-Loop-Grant Park) Hotel Allegro

I've tried up to $72 for 2.5 star with no luck using the usual bidding techniques I've learned from this great site. I believe my problem is the Chicago Triathalon is held that weekend. Haven't found many winning bids for this time period. May have to widen my location and increase my price?

The problem with Chicago is that there's not too many options in the downtown area - the River North-NMA area (which is generally more expensive, although there are exceptions) and the Millennium Park-Loop-GP area. If you start to include the Greater Chicago area, you could wind up in an out-of-the-way location, either to the South (Hyatt McCormick) or SW (Marriott UIC). There are some great options in the 'burbs for much cheaper, but these are best only if you're driving.

What would be your desired max budget per night for these dates? Based upon the rates I'm seeing, I think you're possibly looking at $80-90 +/- for a 2.5-3* in the Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park area for these dates.
