mfemi Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Hello. I'm looking to visit Chicago 9/11-9/13 and need help identifying the 4* hotel ($159) in the North Michigan Ave - Water Tower - Gold Coast Area. Amenities: Boutique, Fitness, Restraunt, Business Center, and Hi speed Internet (all from hotwire's website). Thanks for your help!
AaronJB Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Good morning. :)This amenity set has been reported with the Sutton and Raffaello, so I would guessthat either of those two could be possibilities.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
mfemi Posted August 17, 2010 Author Report Posted August 17, 2010 Thanks! We haven't booked it yet but I noticed a price drop on a 4* Mag Mile - Streeterville area ($134).Amenties include: Smoke Free, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaruant, Business Center and Hi-Speed Internet Access. Any ideas on which property this might be?Thanks again for the help!
AaronJB Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 This would likely be the Sheraton. You could also try PRICELINE for these dates and see if you could get a 4* in the NMA-River North area for less than the Sheraton HOTWIRE offer - maybe try a bid at $110 for a 4* in the NMA-River North area and see if that's accepted? If not, then try again at $115. If you're flexible with which 4* you get in this area, this could be a way to get some additional savings. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
mfemi Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Thanks for the advice to try Priceline. We bid $120 a night in the North Michigan area on a 4* hotel and it ended up being The Sheraton! What a great deal! HUGE savings! Thanks again!
AaronJB Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Congrats on your success. :)Glad you were able to get under HOTWIRE's price by using PRICELINE. I'd highly recommend Fox and Obel Market and Cafe (which is a nice breakfast/lunch/dinner option or just to browse around the market) about a block and a half East, on the corner of McClurg and Illinois.Definitely a nice discount off regular rate with the full price being $234 for these busy dates. What I would also suggest regarding this property would be to write them to request a room on a higher floor facing North or South. You would not be asking for an upgrade, just a higher floor room in either of these directions, which would optimize your chances of getting a nice - at least partial - view of the surrounding area.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
