wliwlCindy Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Bid $50 hoping to get Residence Inn, which I have gotten several times in the past. Bid rejected. I'll try again for $60 in 24 hours.

wliwlCindy Posted August 15, 2010 Author Report Posted August 15, 2010 On 8/14 I rebid $65 on a 3 star in Worcester and it was rejected. I added in Auburn (no 3 star available) and rebid $70 and was rejected. Oh well. (I have a refundable reservation at the Residence Inn for $139.)
thereuare Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 HOTWIRE currently has the Residence Inn Worcester available for your dates for $95 (non-refundable) and $111 (refundable)... just search HOTWIRE for your dates and this is listed as a non-opaque option (ie- click the CONTNUE button next to the listing and you'll see the name of the hotel)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. wliwlCindy Posted August 17, 2010 Author Report Posted August 17, 2010 Thank you for the HOTWIRE suggestion. I will use that if I can't win a bid soon. (I am so cheap! lol) Meanwhile, my parents want to come with us, so now I want two rooms. I think this is not an issue of price, but availability. I really only want to stay at the Residence Inn, although I would be ok with Courtyard too. I'm glad the Crowne Plaza closed - that was a 3* and it was a dump.Today (8/17) I bid:2 roomsWorcester 3* $55 rejectedWorcester + Auburn 3* $65 rejectedBTW I always use your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to bid.
thereuare Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Since the Residence Inn is showing as a "non opaque" property they may not have offered the opaque suppliers any inventory for these dates (although rates don't see too high)... i would replace your current reservation with the $111/nite rate just in case inventory doesn't open up with the opaque suppliers, and the rate may not be there when you want it later. Thanks for using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. wliwlCindy Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 At this point Hotwire is showing a hidden hotel that is 3* and fits the description of the Residence Inn for a non-refundable $79. I have continued trying to bid to no avail. I'll give it a little more time, but I bet that $79 is the Residence Inn...(BTW my dates are 9/24-9/26.)As always, thanks!
AaronJB Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 What amenities are showing with the HOTWIRE listing?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
wliwlCindy Posted September 2, 2010 Author Report Posted September 2, 2010 Well, now the rate is $82, but the amenities listed are:Complementary BreakfastFitness CenterPoolBusiness CenterLaundryHi Speed Internet in roomsKitchenetteSure sounds like the Residence Inn to me.
thereuare Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 This does match previous reports for the Residence Inn so that would be my best guess for this one as well. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
