donaldtin Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Total new to priceline and this forum... a bit of help is highly appreciated.Looking for the long weekend, 9/4 - 9/6.Been checking out other threads, seems like 3.5* goes for about $100- 110.. and my budget is $100 - $130 up to 4*.Zones are mainly (Copley Square - Theatre District) or Quincy Market area. Please correct if my steps are correct.1. Start off bidding $100 with 4* selected in one zone.2. Re-enter $100 with 4* selected with both zones.3. Add 3.5* with one zone again4. Re-enter $100 with selected 2 zones.up the bid and repeat steps 1-4?? Thanks a lot~
UnknownLegacy Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Not quite. I was a bit confused at first myself, but here's an easy step-by-step guide.1. Goto PRICELINE's Name Your Own Price screen.2. Check off the first zone's box.3. Look down the screen to see which Stars are faded. Those Star of hotel are not in that area. Take note of the Zone and which Stars are NOT in that zone.4. Uncheck the zone and repeat using the second zone.5. Keep going until you see what Hotel Stars are not in each area.6. Select your area that you wish to stay in, the Star of hotel you would like to stay in, and then the price you'd like to pay.7. If you get rejected, increase your bid by $5-10. Select another zone (still including your wanted zone, since you can't change it anyways). Make sure that the other zone you selected does NOT have the star of hotel that you wish to stay at.8. Keep increasing the amount you bid using the "rebid zones" (Zones that do NOT have the Star of the hotel you are aiming for). For example:I want to stay at "Boston Harbor Front - Aquarium" (BHF-A) in a 4* Hotel1. I select BHF-A.2. I note that BHF-A does not have 2* or 1* Hotels in the Zone.3. I uncheck BHF-A.4. I check Boston Waterfront - Convention Center (BW-CC).5. I note that BW-CC does not have 2.5*, 2*, or 1* Hotels in the Zone.6. [And so on for every single zone in the Boston Area]7. I'm finally ready to bid! I have my list of Hotels not in each Zone in hand.8. I select BHF-A (because that is were I want to stay).9. I select 4* Hotels10. I enter my bid, for this example, lets say $100.11. Bid is rejected.12. Using my list, I see that "Fenway Park" does not have any 4* Hotels in the zone.13. I select "Fenway Park".14. I increase my bid to $105 and I try again.15. I get my room! I got a nice 4* Hotel in the BHF-A Zone. That was a bit longer than I thought it would be >.>
