Priceline Hotel: *3.5 Crystal City

Looking to stay in the Crystal City area from 9-21 to 9-28.

Have bid for the past few days with no winning bid. Starting bid was $85 now up to $100 with no win.

Looking in history of recent post have seen some winning bids in the $80 range.

How much should I expect to pay for this area? Thinking I might have to pay higher amount for a week stay?

This is a particularly busy set of dates in DC, and the week-long stay may also be problematic. What would be your desired budget per night? Are you seeing any listings of interest on HOTWIRE?

I didn't realize this was high season. Maybe I should try breaking up my bid for one week into multiple bids for shorter stays.

I will give HOTWIRE a try. I was hoping to get a room for around $100 but it may be difficult during this time.

The weekend dates are cheaper then the midweek, but as this stay is Tuesday to Tuesday, this isn't going to help yo too much unless you want to change hotels twice (3 different properties) and you're still faced with the much higher priced midweek legs of the trip.

What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel thru conventional booking channels? Could you increae your budget at all? Are there any other nearby zones which might be acceptable for your needs this trip?
