yellowdog Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding :) I can't get the same hotel to appear on my standard search for 2 adults. I'm getting a 3.5* W/Restaurant, HS Internet, Business. How many rooms/adults/children did you search for? Can you please run a new search and confirm that you still can see this hotel on your search. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
wargrigberg Posted August 10, 2010 Author Report Posted August 10, 2010 I think I searched for three adults. I was worried about not getting two beds. Also, I just searched for two adults and got 3.5 stars in Dupont Circle for 89, with food, internet and business center AND bed choice, which may be what you got. I did not get the bed choice on the three person search.
thereuare Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Will you actually only be double occupancy but wanted separate bids... or do you need triple occupancy for this stay? How firm is your budget... could you go a little higher for a nicer hotel? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. wargrigberg Posted August 10, 2010 Author Report Posted August 10, 2010 It will be me and my 20 year old son. My 19 year old may join. So I can be fine as long as there are two separate beds. I can go a little higher but not crazy. I just want them to have a nice time and be near fun things, not isoated. Thank you! (And Go Blue)
thereuare Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Well my previous thought was what appears to either be the Omni Shorehams or Hotel Palomar is available for ~$140/nite for triple occupancy... i thought it was close to $115 or so earlier today, but i could be mistaken. Not sure your thoughts about going in the $140's for each of this very highly reviewed properties. Are other zones acceptable OR are you only considering the Dupont Circle zone? For example, what i believe to be The George, which also gets excellent reviews, is available for $125/nite but in the Whilte House zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts on the above and we'll take it from there. wargrigberg Posted August 11, 2010 Author Report Posted August 11, 2010 The Capitol would be ok, too. The George looks really nice. I assume that is the Boutique listed? Oddly, when i did a search for vacancies on their own website, for three adults, they gave me a king room that didn't look like it had another bed. Maybe there is a fold out couch but it didn't say. I'm still not clear what that 3.5 star for 89 might be in Dupont Circle. Do you have any idea? There is also a White house hotel with pool, tennis, restaurant, fitness, business and internet. 3.5 stars for 123. Other than the George, do you have a sense what the others may be? I just need to pull the trigger! wargrigberg Posted August 11, 2010 Author Report Posted August 11, 2010 I pulled the trigger. The George was tempting, but I figured I'll be spending so much money while there, I should take the lower rate. It's the Westin City Center, triple occupancy and 89/night. I'm totally fine with that! Location is good and close to relatives who will be in the Hilton. thanks so much for your help!
