Priceline Hotel: Central NYC 13th - 18th of September

I'm relatively new here and have tried my luck with 2*-4*Hotels in Manhattan (CPS, SA, MTW, MTE, DSF, ESB, HK, MSG, TS-TD) in the past few days using the links to priceline on here, but with no success so far. Somewhere near Times Square would be lovely, but I know that is not very realistic. For a 3-4* I'm willing to pay up to

I've been bidding on priceline for similar dates, 12th to 17th of september, for about 3 weeks up to U$170,00 (3* and up) and I didn't have any lucky yet. My back up hotel is Amsterdan Inn, reserved through booking.com, with private bath, for U$149/per night.

I've fixed the euro sign in the topic title and converted to US dollar symbol.

If you haven't already i'd highly recommend finding a fully refundable back-up as during this time of year you may not find the price drop you're seeking. What is the best price you're able to find at a suitable hotel for this stay?

I'm confused about your tipp to get a back-up as I mentioned in my initial post that I have booked a room at the Americana Inn, which, in fact, is fully refundable.

I didn't re-read the entire thread... just 'updated' myself with the last few posts :)

Although i will add that your back-up should be something that you're very comfortable with (you appear to have a few reservations with your current back-up due to the shared bath) as it's a busy time of year and you may not see availability open up as readily as others who have been looking for the summer months have experienced.

If you have a back-up then you should be all set.

Oh, I am totally fine with the Americana Inn, it would just be nice to have a private bath and something a little less basic.
