Matt2mc Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hello All!I am looking for some bidding advice as this will be my first time using PricelineI have been reading the forum and the guides but thought asking the people would be the best idea to get me startedI am looking for Amsterdam City Centre 23rd September to 27th September 2010, and I am hoping to pay up to around $100 - $110 a night. 5 Star would be brilliant but if this is not achievable then I would still be happy with a 4 starAny comments on strategies would be appreciatedMatt
Matt2mc Posted August 9, 2010 Author Report Posted August 9, 2010 I have tried for a 5 star at $120 and it was declined
BacSi Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Can't help you with any good 5 star insight. But someone I know just got a four star for 3 nights (Sept 24, 25, 26) for $74 for one night and $76 for the other two. They wanted to hotel hop. So they broke their bid up.they have the NH Amsterdam Centre ($74) and the Movenpick ($76) . The other 4* in play at this time is the NH Carlton.Four star is the way I would go
Matt2mc Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Posted November 19, 2010 Just to update what happened with this hotel bookingI was rather niave and impatient and didnt read how to book european hotels section so paid over the odds. Got 4* Moevenpick for 23/09 - 27/09 @ $105 a night including taxThe hotel is lovely and the tram to get into town is cheap and every 15 minutes - highly recommended hotel although non smoking
