I've been bidding for both 3* and 4* on this date; it's just a place to flop after a daytime flight to London and I wouldn't have cared if I got the Ariel. However, that wasn't coming up on bids of up to $43, though I think there was a counteroffer in the mid $50s (can't recall for sure.)

I started bidding 4* at $53 and crept up to $59. $57 was rejected, there was a steady counteroffer of $64.

Looks like a very good rate relative to the hotel's asking price!

A few dollars more than required on previously accepted bids, but i guess attributable to the fluctuating exchange rates.
