simplysw Posted August 8, 2010 Author Report Posted August 8, 2010 Thank you for your response yellowdog.I used a search for 2 adults, 2 children Mag Mile and Chicago Loop areas for 8/27 - 8/293 star $129 Mag MileFitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry Facilities and Hi Speed Access3 star $139 Chicago LoopComplimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, Laundry, Hi SpeedThanks in advance!
AaronJB Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 The 3* Mag Mile would likely be the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza, whilemy guess for the 3* Loop would be the La Quinta. Both of these properties are not centrally located and will be quiet at night, but the area around the La Quinta - which is primarily a business district - is going to be particularly quiet later in the evening. At the HI, it's not too far to the River North area, where there's a wide variety of restaurants. Not sure why these dates are on the expensive sidefor late Summer (convention?)Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
simplysw Posted August 10, 2010 Author Report Posted August 10, 2010 Well we thought we'd like to stay downtown but there must be something going on... prices are quite high so we are looking elsewhere. Can you id the following hotels or give us an idea of somewhere fun to stay that's reasonable?Hotwire searched 2 adults 2 children Lombard Oakbrook area4 1/2 star $78 Bed choice, non smoking, fitness, swimming pool, restaurant, hi speed access, golf and tennis nearby, business center3 1/2 star $67 Fitness, swimming pool, business center, hi speed, golf, restaurantThanks in advance for your help
AaronJB Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Oakbrook is a nice area - which direction are you driving in from? I generally suggest the North 'burbs (which are quite nice and offer some activities such as the Ravinia Music Festival and the Chicago Botanic Garden, as well as access to beaches), but if you're coming in from the South Oakbrook would be more convenient. My guess for the 4.5* would be the Westin, while the 3.5* would be a possible match for the Doubletree Oak Brook. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
