enemail Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 We are planning on visisiting NYC from August 25th thru August 28th. Our group of eight consists of two families, four adults and four children (age 6 thru 12). We are looking for a suite hotel with breakfast like the Residence Inn etc in Midtown area. We are looking to book two roomsHow could I specify in Hotwire my requirements for a suite hotel or included breakfast? I have not used Hotwire beforeThis is a great siteThanks

We did not go on the trip because on of our kids was sick and we did not end up making a booking thru hotwire and so I' still waiting for my first use of hotwire.
yellowdog Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 enemailHow could I specify in Hotwire my requirements for a suite hotel or included breakfast? You can't do this. You need to look trough the HOTWIRE inventory and see if you can locate any icons that says STE or Comp Breakfast. And you must search for 2 rooms W/ 4 adults and 4 kids to see the correct HOTWIRE inventory. Let us know what you find and how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
thereuare Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 I'll add to the above that you're looking for things which, even by themselves, are somewhat rare in NYC:-suite as a standard room type-quad occupancy-included breakfast... it will be even rarer to find all three at the same property, and you'd like it to be the one offered on your HOTWIRE search. I'm not saying it can't happen, but i would lower your expectations. What is your expected budget per nite per room for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 My thought for this particular situation was this:The Beekman Tower is on sale for $209 via Expedia for a 1BR suite on these dates, and coupon code RELAX10 takes $10 off per night - $199. There is also a promotion where you get a $50 debit card in the mail 4-6 weeks after your stay (pleasedefinitely read the fine print regarding this promotion.)That doesn't offer breakfast and the Beekman is a bit far E in Midtown E, but I don't think you'regoing to find another suite option that reasonable in NYC - and this is one of the most reasonableregular rate options in general for these dates. If you booked both rooms together, you would only get to use the coupon for one room and get 1 card (again, please do read the fine print regarding the promotion), so I would try booking both rooms separately. Please use the site's Expedia link to start your purchases and searches if you decide to go for this deal.
thereuare Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 The Beekman is around the corner from my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.Every morning for breakfast:8-12 bagels - $10/dayCoffee/Drinks - $5-$8/dayButter/Cream Cheese - $4 (keep in your refrigerator in the room)There's your breakfast back in the room for eight people at under $20/day total :)If you do go for the above and book separately, please also ask your friends to stop by this thread and click our Expedia link to begin their booking.Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help. enemail Posted August 9, 2010 Author Report Posted August 9, 2010 Thanks for the tips on the Ess a bagel. I will try it out.At the moment we have a reservation at Residence in in Times Square. It comes close to satisfying most of our requirements. I got it directly from the Mariott site at $284 a night with full breakfast(AAA discount). I wil check out Beekman and poll the rest of the group. It certainly is a lot cheaper even if we spend $40 on breakfast for all eight. Will keep you posted on the decision.
enemail Posted August 14, 2010 Author Report Posted August 14, 2010 The group voted to stay in the Residence Inn but definitely planned on staopping Ess a Bagel. Thanks for the tips and help
AaronJB Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Thank you for closing the thread. Enjoy your stay.
