HEksn Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 My siblings and I are visiting Chicago for the first time and need some guidance to where would be great hotels to stay in. We're just staying 2 days, walking or public transport only, and will have young kids with us. Suggestions for great, safe areas with shopping and sightseeing and easy activities would be appreciated.I checked out Hotwire and came up with these. Please help with ID. Thanks!Dates: 8/31 - 9/21. 4.5*, Magnificient Mile-Streeterville, Smoke-free, Fitness, Restaurants, Business Center, HS Internet $992. 4*, Magnificient Mile-Streeterville, Fitness, Restaurants, Business Center, HS Internet, Spa Services $99
AaronJB Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Good morning, and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The 4.5* would likely be the Intercontinental, while the 4* would likely be the Hyatt; the Intercontinental for the same price would certainly be the preferable option, in my opinion. Are you searching for 2 adults only, or 2 adults/2 children? The above results are for searching for 2 adults only; when 2 adults/2 children are searched for, different results appear.Additionally, in terms of family-friendly activities, a main recommendation of mine continues to be the Lincoln Park Zoo, which is a beautiful (and free) zoo. The Peggy Notabert Nature Center (which does charge admission) is also just to the North about a block or so from the North gate of the Lincoln Park Zoo, and that is a family-friendly, smaller nature museum with a live butterfly exhibit. That's a really nice little museum (in a gorgeous building) that, oddly, is not given much press. The Chicago Historical Society is also nearby, as is the small Old Town neighborhood. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
