zigmeister Posted August 7, 2010 Author Report Posted August 7, 2010 I've already read the messages. And I understand going thro hot-wire and price line. No problem.
thereuare Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Rates are date specific so you may not be able to get the same deal as other user(s) if the dates of your stay are different then the dates of another users... demand for your dates may be higher then for the dates for which you're seeing other wins and therefore rates would be higher as well (the opposite can also be true if demand for your dates is lower then the demand for the dates of others)As well you can't bid for a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, i assume you're "ok" with any 4* hotel in the (St Germain-Latin Quarter-Montparnasse) zone? Are there any other zone(s) you're willing to accept?A quick look at dates for your stay i don't think that a 4* for ~$108 is likely, but we can try to suggest a strategy for you to follow, graducally increasing towards the $180 level, but please let us know first if any other zones are acceptable so we can include all acceptable zones in a bidding strategy which would increase your chances of landing a deal. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. zigmeister Posted August 9, 2010 Author Report Posted August 9, 2010 Yes any 4* hotel in that zone would be fine. Other area also ok: champs/ opera & eiffel tower/montparnasse. If you think it seems reasonable to get something for less...obviously, I'm happy to spend less. :)Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
thereuare Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Unfortunately there are no re-bid zones when bidding 4* in Paris. Since you have some time i'd start low and as follows:Seelct 4* Latin Quarter...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Seelct 4* Champs Elysees...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Seelct 4* Eiffel Tower...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Seelct 4* Latin Quarter and Champs Elysees...Bid $100, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Seelct 4* Latin Quarter and Eiffel Tower...Bid $100, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Seelct 4* Latin Quarter and Champs Elysees and Latin Quarter...Bid $110Any questions feel free to ask. I expect the bids above to be rejected, but it's worthwhile to lowball when you have a little itme, so don't get discouraged if the above is rejected (although these are going to be tough dates, imo)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
