Priceline Hotel: Pittsburgh (Downtown) Aug 17/10 to Aug 18/10

No luck with bidding on PRICELINE for Aug 17/10 to Aug 18/10.

Tried several bids at 4* $55, $57, $60, $62, $64, $65, $67, $68, $69, $70 on first day.

Second day for 4* I went from $65 with $1 increases to $90. then $92, $93, $95, $100.

Tried other stars as well. Checked hotels in downtown most are sold out.

So booked Hampton Inn Dowtown Pittsburgh for $197 + taxes.

I can sympathize!

I unsuccessfully bid up to $250 for a 4 * downtown for 8/18 - 8/19.

I believe the primary reason is the Paul McCartney concerts on 8/18 and 8/19.

The Hampton property you booked is very nice, free parking, and not a bad walk into the city.
