pinkpineapple Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to NY from 11/27/10-12/02/10. The dates are not flexible. The ideal would be 4* Central Park South or Midtown East (but will also take Midtown West/ Empire state/ Times Square)So far I have bid up to $180 on the above areas with no success. Bid up to $165 on 3.5*On Hotwire I've seen $229 for 4* Midtown East (with fitness room, restaurant, business centre, hi speed internet, tennis, 95% rec, 3.5 tripadvisor (likely Grand Hyatt or the Barclay although the Grand Hyatt has 4 points on tripadvisor)I didnt really want to go over $220 but does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
AaronJB Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I think you're not very far off from a MTE/CPS win, and can progress higher by $2/3 at a time. MTW/TS would most likely be more expensive, as may ESB.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
pinkpineapple Posted August 5, 2010 Author Report Posted August 5, 2010 Thanks for the advice. I figured those areas would be more expensive but added them anyway on the off chance and because I got to increase my bids. Thanks
pinkpineapple Posted August 6, 2010 Author Report Posted August 6, 2010 Thanks guys, I got the Barclay for $207 in the end. Not as cheap as I'd hoped but I'm happy.
AaronJB Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Congrats on your success. :)Sorry to hear that the win was more than you had hoped, but nice deal for this historic property for the holiday season.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
