John from Seattle Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Posted this in the Hotwire forum as well. We'll be in Vegas 8/3-8/7. Looking to spend no more than $50/nt. Would prefer MGM Grand, because we have friends staying there. Any tips? Is that even possible at $50/nt? I did read someone got Hardrock for around $40/nt that would be ok, but kind of far from the MGM.
thereuare Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Please confirm the correct dates of your stay... as per your post above your check-in date has already passed. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 A 4* hotel on the strip for $50 for dates which include weekend nites is not very likely. As well, with PRICELINE you can't choose the hotel, only the zone... your hotel can be anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone you choose. If you go enter Las Vegas in the PRICELINE search box on the top right of this page and look at the zones and their boundaries, as there any zones you're willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the boundaries of the zone?If you're trying to target a location within a zone (or proximity to a specific point) HOTWIRE can often be a better option as you're able to take a guess as to what you may receive before your purchase based upon the amenities shown, and therefore have a guess as to where within the zone the property is located. However, searching HOTWIRE for your dates, nothing at the 4* level appears to be within your budget.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. John from Seattle Posted August 5, 2010 Author Report Posted August 5, 2010 1st choice would be MGM, if I'm able to choose. Is it showing up in the Hotwire choices? There's a 4* for $129/nt. Strip south, casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, high speed and spa, recommended by 90%.If not the MGM, then I guess best/cheapest in the general area, with the rating not all that important. Thanks for all your help, I'll make sure I link to PRICELINE or HOTWIRE thru here.
AaronJB Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Are you still seeing this 4* listing when searching for 9/3-7? I'm not seeing it when searching for 9/3-7.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
John from Seattle Posted August 5, 2010 Author Report Posted August 5, 2010 Yep it's still there. I looked it up on the Hotel list, and it's probably Planet Hollywood. I'm guessing I'll just try and bid for the cheapest on PRICELINE. I will report which one I win.
John from Seattle Posted August 5, 2010 Author Report Posted August 5, 2010 Vegas strip south...Went up to $70 for 4* no luck. Will try again tomorrow.
