nocomicsans Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 I started at $90 with 4* in Hoboken and went up in $5 increments until this bid was accepted. Anyone have recommendations for that neighborhood while I'm there (food, must-dos)?
thereuare Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 My favorites on the Jersey side of the river:East LA (508 Washington St, Hoboken) - awesome frozen margaritas. Food is 'ok'... there is better in townMargheritas (8th and Washington St) - very good, affordable, large portion Italian food. Almost everything is great, but i recommend sticking with anything with red sauce. BYOB (if driving stop at the new Buy Rite liquors in front of the Holland Tunnel... if walking stop at Sparrow's (Washington St b/w 1st and 2nd) on the walk to the restaurant) (CLOSED Monday)Baja (Montgomery St, Jersey City) - if a large group go with the "Baja Special" (and ask for all the shrimp grilled)... if 4 or more you can order for one less then in your party and there will still be plenty of food ($23/pp) If only 2 you can still order but be prepared for leftovers... or stick with the steak fajitas (or a friend recommended some burrito they have which is steak wrapped in bacon)Texas Arizona (across the street from Hoboken PATH station) - great place to grab a seat outside (Hudson Place side) on a weekday between 4pm-8pm to poeple watch the hoards of people coming/go to the PATH trainNOTE: Washington Street in Hoboken is different then Washington Blvd in Jersey City Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
