Zamnd Posted August 3, 2010 Author Report Posted August 3, 2010 I just called the Hotel to confirm my reservation, and try my way in upgrading the room to a 2-double beds instead of a 1-queen size bed. Unfortunately, I had to pay a 20$ extra fee per night. So in total, it comes up to $95/night, which is still about $25 less than what other sites offers.
AaronJB Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Nice deal for the upgrade; I'm guessing 2 doubles are $20 extra in general (hotels often charge the difference as an "upgrade fee" if they do allow upgrades -some don't.)Thank you for the follow-up.
Zamnd Posted August 23, 2010 Author Report Posted August 23, 2010 Since the posting of my win (3.5* Arc The Hotel Ottawa, ON 10-09-10 to 10-11-10), the event I was supposed to attend on October 10 was postponed to October 17.I was wondering if anyone had any luck trying to change their check-in/out dates with Priceline?I spoke with a manager at Arc the Hotel and he told me he was fine with making the changes but before doing so, I had to provide him with a confirmation number from Priceline, confirming the changes.
AaronJB Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 I'd go in with lowered expectations, as PRICELINE unfortunately will probably say no, but it's definitely worth a try.Let us know if they respond.
Zamnd Posted August 23, 2010 Author Report Posted August 23, 2010 Wow!I called Priceline.com, I told them the hotel was willing to do the changes, but I had to get a confirmation from Priceline first (as I said in my initial post). They told me because of contractual engagements with the hotel, they could not proceed with any changes to the deal. Priceline told me to deal directly with the hotel. So, I called again my hotel and explained to them what Priceline had just told me and they agreed to make the changes in the check-in/out dates, at no additional costs. This is great!
AaronJB Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 I think this is definitely a rare occurance where everything worked out - as a lot of hotels have said no to changes in this situation - but really glad that the hotel was able to work with you on changes. Thank you for the follow-up.
