wpgnewfy
I see lots of winning bids under $70 for a 4* hotel downtown but I've bid $100 and haven't been successful. Any tips? I've also bid up to $85 for a 3 1/2* but again no luck. Link to comment

yellowdog
Something is going on for your dates. Rates are higer than normal. What would your max be for a 4* vs 3.5*, or you just want to try to score the cheapest hotel? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog. wpgnewfy
I'd be happy with either a 3 1/2 or 4* but preferrably a 4* for $120 or less. I would also probably go up to $90-$100 for a 3 1/2*. Link to comment
AaronJB
Are there any deals of interest on HOTWIRE? If your bids are not being accepted, I'd progress higherslowly (by $5's) towards your max. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment

Bob24
It has been my experience that the 4 star is the Hyatt Regency. Not a bad property actually. The 3 and a half star that seems to be won most often is the Millenium. That place is a dump. I won it before for $41 and felt like I paid about $31 too much. Link to comment
bellabob
I have also bid up to 75 for 4 * and 90 for 3.5 * with no luck. This is for the weekend 9-17 thru 9-20. Downtown Minneapolis. What are other good areas to stay. We will be mainly going to a show in midtown. Airport? Saint Paul? Link to comment

apok
On September 19 for the first time in decades both the Minnesota Twins and The Vikings are playing home games in Downtown Minneapolis. As much as I love downtown I would recommend that you look for a room in the south suburbs and take the train to the game you are most likely coming to Minneapolis for. travelbunny
I just stayed in the Sheraton Bloomington last weekend. Booked through HOTWIRE for $52/night. I see someone on here recently booked it for your dates for $45. It's a 3.5 star in Bloomington West and right next to the Sofitel. I have stayed there many times and we really enjoy it. Pool is clean but nothing pretty to look at, but we don't use it anyway. Link to comment
