TjayB Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 First time Priceline bidder here. Looking at 3.5 - 4 stars in San Francisco Fishermans Wharf, in 9/12/2010 out 9/15/2010. Ideally looking to keep the price around $110 or under each night. Recommendations for how to proceed/people's favorite hotels in these areas greatly appreciated. Thanks!Strategy100$ Fishermans Wharf105$ Fishermans Wharf + Civic Centre110$ Fishermans Wharf + Civic Centre + Marina Lombard Street115$ Fishermans Wharf + Civic Centre + Marina Lombard Street + SFO North San Brunois this strategy ok?
VillaUtopia Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Eh, yeah. I have been looking for this also but as it turns out $110 won't even get you in a 3* although i must say, i was looking for 16-19 september which is probably more expensive. But i also have been up to $135 for 3,5* in FW for those dates and got nothing.Try to keep an eye on the rates on HOTWIRE.
TjayB Posted August 2, 2010 Author Report Posted August 2, 2010 The best rate i've found on HOTWIRE is 197$ for 3.5* and 213$ for 4*
slruud Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Another option is Lastminutetravel.com which is offering a couple 4.5*, their rating, hotels in the Union Square area for $133/$139/nite.
VillaUtopia Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 I think TjayB is looking for Fishermans warf only...just like me in my priceline hotel thread. I know that narrows down on our chances but thats the way it is.strategy should be ok
thereuare Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 TjayB,With HOTWIRE rates at ~$200 i don't thnk $115 seems very likely via PRICELINE... is that your maximum bid for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. VillaUtopia Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Fishermans Warf 3,5 * for 16 - 19 september 2010: $145 not accepted
TrevorK Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 I'll be down in SF around that time, or a little later, and was hoping to get a good deal in Fisherman's Wharf. Is there something special going on during this period of time, or are these the normal prices?
AaronJB Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Trevork,Given rates, I'm guessing there's something going on. Please start a new thread if you would like assistance with your stay.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 TjayB,You actually have FOUR re-bid zones when bidding 3.5* in this area, but you've only used 3 above... are you able to determine your FOUR re-bid zones? (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained) If not just post back and we'll break it down further for you. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
