musicphan Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 I am going to be heading to Boson for New Years Eve and wonder if it is better to try and snag a room now vs. waiting until few weeks before? I'm looking for a 3*-4* room in the Copley Square-Theatre District. In an ideal world I'd spend <$100. Dates of travel would be Wed. 12/29/10 to Sun. 1/2/11Any thoughts or suggestions? I have already tried bidding $75 but got denied a few days ago.
AaronJB Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 It's almost always a very good idea to try to lock something in for NYE in most major cities - NYC, Seattle, Boston, etc. Based upon the HOTWIRE rates I'm seeing for these dates, in most of the main zones of Boston, a 4* under $100 would appear to have fairly slim chances, and a 3 or 3.5* would appear possible.Which zones would you be interested in bidding for? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
musicphan Posted August 1, 2010 Author Report Posted August 1, 2010 AaronJB,I agree with your advice about sooner is better for that time of year. I think we're looking at Copley area since we're going to the House of Blues on the 30th & 31st. I know Boston like the back of my hand, but want to make it easy on my travel partners in case we get separated - which is a possibility.Looking at either a 3* or 3.5*. I have faith that it can happen. Don't need plush this time around (I'll go for that high-end when I'm there in October with my nieces).
musicphan Posted August 2, 2010 Author Report Posted August 2, 2010 Just scored the Park Plaza for $80.00 per night for New Year's Eve!I've stayed there before and can't believe its only a 3.5*. If I could only score this hotel at that same price for my October Boston trip...
musicphan Posted August 2, 2010 Author Report Posted August 2, 2010 Don't know why it put the in place of the price in the subject line.
