I'm looking for a 4* hotel in midtown for August 20-22. I've reviewed the "Calendar of Wins" for the dates and see that several people got rooms for $130. So I started my bids there, and went up $5 by adding different neighborhoWhaods. I stopped at $170 because I still wasn't getting a room.

What am I doing wrong?

It's been more than 24 hours so I can bid again, but am not sure whether to start at $175 or something lower.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

My last bid was for Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Midtown West, Midtown East, Chelsea Area, Times Square - Theatre District, Madison Square Garden - Convention Area, Empire State Building Area, Central Park South for $170.

The "Calendar of Wins" shows several successful bids of $140 for these zones on these days. Could they have bid long ago?

Would I be better off waiting for any last-minute openings? Will the prices fall a week before? A few days before?

Congrats on your success. :)

You absolutely can't beat that deal - this is one of the most well-reviewed properties in the city, and it's not seen that often as a win.

Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.

Enjoy your stay.
