andrusyna Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 Started bidding at $35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 - got it at $65 for 8/10 - 8/13.We're going there for the U.S. gymnastics championships on those dates, so I figure that's a good deal. The Omni site has the cheapest rate (AAA) at $171 per night for those nights. Cheapest 4-star for those nights on HOTWIRE was $113.Do you think I might have bought the room too early? I wasn't sure how long to wait since the gymnastics tickets are already on sale and I figured I could get the Omni (which is a 1000 foot walk to Conseco Fieldhouse, where the gymnastics will be held). 5 months ahead of time might have been jumping the gun, but can't argue with $65 for a AAA 4-diamond hotel! Thanks for the help with bidding - this site is great!
thereuare Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 Congratulations on your win! When you suspect extra demand it certainly pays to begin bidding as soon as your plans are firm... and it looks like a great deal! (1/3 of website price)Thanks for sharing your win!Enjoy your stay and the gymnastics tournament. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Ringman Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 :) Finally!! a fellow gymnastic fan on BetterBidding!!!At $65 for the Omni-- you did well-- Your other option - the gymnastic org would sell you rooms at Westin or Marriott for $129/night.!!!I haven't got my rooms yet... have to wait and see if my son is planning on going (I think he's pre-qualified already...)-
