This is the first time i use "Name you own price" for a trip three months ahead. i'm not getting good deals like i used to when book a week or days in advance. Is it true that the closer the trip the better deal you get , since Hotels try to fill the rooms instead of leaving them empty ?

Rates are date specific so you can't compare them.
