beaufortbill Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 We are taking our granddaughter to tour Catholic U. and need a hotel reasonably near[Dupont Circle to Arlington] for 8/9 ideally with two beds, free parking and breakfast.Does anyone have a clue as to a HOTWIRE or PRICELINE approach? All assistance is appreciated.
AaronJB Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Good morning. :)In terms of more than one bed, HOTWIRE would be the best approach, given that PRICELINE onlyguarantees 1 bed/double occupancy, and with HOTWIRE, you can indicate the amount of peoplein your party and ensure some form of bedding (commonly 2 beds, but could be 1 + sofabed or othercombination) for your entire party.Free parking is not a guarantee with either service and unfortunately, it's increasingly rare in major cities. For free breakfast, you can look for the free breakfast icon showing with a HOTWIRE listing, but there is no guarantee that a listing offering one will be showing for your dates. Please provide your desired budget per night and I would be happy to see what's available.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
beaufortbill Posted July 31, 2010 Author Report Posted July 31, 2010 Thanks for the quick response. I'm seeing a 3 star in Arlington for $47.00 [wow] and there seem to be some good choices around Dulles that have gone for under $90.00 [where I would like to be].AM travel times to Catholic should be doable [under 30 minutes]Help for specific locations would be great. I assume airport hotels typically have free parking, but that $47.00 rate looks very tempting [then we could afford to buy her lunch] kidding!
AaronJB Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Please provide the amenities HOTWIRE associates with each listing (as well as zone and star rating), and we would be happy to try to ID them. Unfortunately, airport properties and free parking does vary - some properties do offer it, quite a few (especially if O'Hare in Chicago is any indication) do not. The one plus is that parking at airport properties - if charged - may not be as steep as properties in the center of DC.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
