When I arrived at the hotel to check-in, I found out that the first room was only a king size bed. I told the lady at the front desk that with 4 people in the room, I really needed to have 2 beds and that I thought that by putting 8 people on the reservation with HOTWIRE, that I would get 2 beds in each room. She said that I was only guaranteed what they had available. I told her that I thought only Priceline didn't guarantee the number of beds. She said Priceline and Hotwire were the same company. She said that 1 king bed was suitable for 4 people. I asked if there were any upgrades available. She said they are not allowed to upgrade Hotwire rooms. Luckily the second room had a double. I gave that to my in-laws, and my family squished into a king sized bed for 4 nights.

I didn't argue with the lady because I really wasn't sure if I should have gotten 2 beds or not.

Some of our hotel partners allow you to reserve your beds (e.g., king, queen) at the time of booking. Look for this indicated in the search results. If this option is not available, please contact the property directly. While we cannot guarantee that your request will be accommodated, our hotel partners will do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

While you can't guarantee 2 beds, if you indicated more than 2 in the room, the hotel should have worked with you on a rollaway or other alternative. If something like this occurs, I'd call HOTWIRE.

If you did indicate 2rooms/8guests on your booking I would still contact HOTWIRE regarding your experience as 1) you may receive some sort of credit/compensation for having your family of 4 being in one bed for the four nite stay and 2) this hotel needs to honor their bookings for the number of guests indicated.

If you do conact them let us know the results, but i'll re-iterate what AaronJB mentioned above... if you ever have a problem with a hotel that you can't resolve on your own, by all means contact HOTWIRE and have them help remedy the situation on your behalf (or they'll tell you that you're not entitled to what you're asking for)
