Hotwire Hotel: 4-5 Star, Scottsdale

I'm getting ready to Priceline a room for Labor Day weekend (Sept. 3-6). Priceline does not show any 5* options, but they do have several 4*. The 2 resorts that I specifically do not want are The Scottsdale Plaza and Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center (they just look more dated and do not appeal to us). I am concerned I will get one of them, though, b/c they are both priced low---65-70/night. Judging by prices that weekend, I am hoping to get something for around 60-70/night, just not those specific resorts. I'm new to Priceline and room bidding, so if you have any tips for me, they would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE. You need to be willing to stay at any 4* or higher in the zone you're bidding at.

It sounds like HOTWIRE is a thing for you? If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to each of these offerings and then click the "See all " link on top of the icons, do you see more amenities for each than what you've listed above?
