Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Montreal (Airport Dorval) Crowne Plaza

Tried to bid upto 95 for a 4 star in the city adding various rebid zones. Though looking at the list that none of the other zones had a 3.5*. Added 3.5 * and bid 77, and turns out I got a hotel in the airport area. Sigh! Oh well, thankfully I am only there for one night. I guess we need to update the list!

The lists on this site are not complete. In fact there is a disclaimer warning against using them in bidding strategy. When selecting the airport zone, both 3.5 and 4 star is listed. The other zones in Montreal are free (as of this posting) of 3.5 and 4* hotels.

Sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the result.

As noted above, it is recommended to use the "Name Your Own Price" section of the PRICELINE service to determine re-bids, not the hotel lists. The 3.5* selection in the airport zone isn't grayed out, nor is the 4* level, so there are properties at both levels in this zone. Laval, Pointe Claire and Longueuil do not have 3.5* or above.

Hopefully this hotel will work out okay for one night, and thank you for letting us know about the change in star rating for this property so that we can update the site's priceline hotel list.

Even though no 3.5* properties had previously been reported to the board, there was a 4* hotel reported on this zone, which would have excluded this zone from being a re-bid zone, since your 3.5* bid could have always been upgraded to the 4* level (the star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, not the star rating you're bidding on)
