Blumie Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Seems that this property has bounced between 4.5* and 5*. It came up as a 5* for me at $89. Based on previous reports on this board, I hit it with a high degree of confidence that I was getting the Mamaison Riverside Hotel, and sure enough that's what I got. Paying $408 all in, about $100 cheaper than the prepaid rate on the hotel's website.

Blumie Posted October 10, 2010 Author Report Posted October 10, 2010 Greetings from Prague! I am happy to report that this is a terrific hotel. It is not right in the thick of things -- which is a good thing in my mind -- but is situated on the banks of the Vltava River directly across from the famous "Dancing House" and only a 15-20 minute walk to the heart of the tourist attractions (which also are easily accessibly by tram and metro for those not inclined to walk). As is typical in Europe, the rooms are not large, but hardly as small as many I've been in; there's plenty of room for a king size bed, a double closet, a large flatscreen TV, a mini bar and a desk area, without feeling cramped. There also is a romeo-and-juliet balcony overlooking a lovely courtyard. Add to that a modern and very nice bathroom (with a deep soaking tub), free hi-speed internet (wired in the rooms; wifi in the public areas), and great English-speaking service, and you have a place that I definitely will return to, particularly at this price. I do wish they had a gym, but I found a very good one (albeit expensive: 500 CZK, or about $28, for a day pass; or 3,000 CSK, or about $170, for a 10-visit pass, which can be shared by multiple people) about two km away, right in the heart of Wenceslas Square, so I've taken to running there, doing my workout, and then running back to the hotel. This is my new home in Prague!
AaronJB Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Thank you for the report! Glad you hear you're enjoying your stay.
