TheBestMan Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Started search(es) through this site's PRICELINE link, as always. It was a very long four days of bidding, as we needed three rooms and my friends were breathing down my neck, worried that the town would sell out or something. Truth be told, the Chicago Marathon on Sunday must really draw a crowd, as price checks everywhere (Hotels.com, hotwire, etc.) were showing substantially larger rates than we were hoping to pay.Earlier today, forum contributor "Peaches the Dog" found a 3.5* at NMA-Water Tower at Hotwire / Indigo for dates a day later at $152 but I couldn't find anything in that range earlier. At any rate, I was willing to include 3.5* or 4*, so four days of inquiries included:Millenium Park-LoopFranklin ParkHyde ParkLincoln ParkNorth Michigan AveStarted at $72, increased by 4 or $5 each time, and over days of failure, succeeded at securing rooms at the Hyatt Regency which I'm very happy with. Today's bids started at $148 and I was offered to re-bid at $30 more which I declined. Thanks again for this site, I love it!
