zoezoe Posted July 26, 2010 Author Report Posted July 26, 2010 Canada Place. Im confused to which area I should look in. I want to be near the port and to be close to few things to do for the day.( Don't have anything in particular that we want to see, just looking to spend the day before a cruise. ) So do I look at North, West or downtown Vancouver. 5 star taste on a 3 star budget. Thanks in advance
aligator_al Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 You really need to be staying downtown. There is much to do and your departure port is in the heart of downtown. If you can snag the Pan Pacific (is a hotwire hotel) you will be right next door to the cruise terminal.North Van and West Van aren't really touristy, they are across the water and can be awkward and time consuming (the Stanley Park bridge has only three lanes total) to get too and from depending on your mode of transport.Enjoy your trip.
zoezoe Posted July 26, 2010 Author Report Posted July 26, 2010 Thank you for the info. I'm going to start looking.
davidgmg Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Thank you for the info. I'm going to start looking.I'm also bidding on N. vancovuer. While its not listed I believe the hotel listed is the Lonsdale Quay hotel. Its one of the few that is actually on the water. I stayed there last wk and its wonderful. You would take the Seabus (watertaxi) right across to Canada Place for your cruise. Its actually very very close to the terminals. Its one of the few on the water and the price is great. I think I'll take a chance but if you bid please report where it is.

zoezoe Posted July 29, 2010 Author Report Posted July 29, 2010 I wasn't brave enough to bid on a room but I used the HOTWIRE that doesn't let you know the name until you buy it. I got the Hyatt Regency Vancouver for 7/30-7/31 for $119.00. I checked around after and no one was near that price. I think its a good deal, what do you all think??? :)
