PissyChrissy Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 My friend and I (both 20) are going to be in NYC next week and I'm hoping to find a room for one night just so we don't have to spend a lot of time commuting. I'm looking for the highest star rating possible for under $125?? We're not picky about the area...something easily accessable. I tried to bid on priceline but after my first bid, i got confused with all the greying outs..........can someone help?Check in date can either be 3/17 or 3/18 one night only.
thereuare Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Are you aware the minimum age requirement for both Priceline and Hotwire hotels is 21? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
PissyChrissy Posted March 11, 2005 Author Report Posted March 11, 2005 yes i am, i've never had a problem checking into hotels in the past purchased on priceline.
thereuare Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Do you have any back-up plan that is close to this as i think this is going to be a tough call.Would you consider Jersey City NJ (10-15 minutes by PATH train, runs 24/7)... i think you can do that for well under your budget and have money left over to do some fun stuff in Manhattan? Our user REVIEWS OF THIS HOTEL are quite positive. PissyChrissy Posted March 11, 2005 Author Report Posted March 11, 2005 This hotel looks great! But is the $35 a priceline bid price? I went to the hyatt website and they have room listed for 150 and up. If I must bid, how will I know I'm getting this hotel?
thereuare Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Who said anything about $35?You don't know that this is the exact hotel you wil get, but your chances are excellent, as no other 3* hotel in the area has been know to accept at the low prices that we would recommend you bid... but you could always be the first to report a change and the first new low acceptance at a different hotel (although i think this is unlikely). If you want to try:Select 3/18 and 3* Jersey City and Bid $46.If rejected you can then either wait 72 hours and bid $55 (or if you're concerned with not having something this close to your stay you can start at $55).If either/both of the above are rejected, you can go to HOTWIRE where there is a 3.5* hotel with restaurant, pool, busines icons for about $77 or so.. these are the amenities associated with the Hyatt.Any questions feel free to ask.Let us know what you decide to do and how it goes.
