HamburgAround Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Hello,I did several booking attempts:4* MTE 110$, 115$, 125$added MTW, tried 125$, 130$still no luck!I see that the city is pretty booked AND for quite a few hotels there is a 2 nights minimum stay...I did use the PRICELINE link to begin the purchase.I also considered a 3,5* place in the LGA area but had no luck at 65$.What is a reasonable bet for a Long Island City hotel?thanks for your assistance!
thereuare Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 This is likely going to be a very expensive nite in NYC... i would guess that a 4* is likely going to take in excess of $200... and a 3.5* around LGA for $100+. For Long Island City what star rating are you considering? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your bidding. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
HamburgAround Posted July 25, 2010 Author Report Posted July 25, 2010 What's on in NYC that night? Or is it just the crazy time before x-mas?For Long Island City I would also consider a 4* if available, or at least a 3.5* property.I will use the PRICELINE link for the follow-up bids as well!Thank you very much for your assistance!
thereuare Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 It's seasonally a busy time due to the Holidays... shopping, store window displays, tree at Rock Center, etc, etc.The highest rating offered in Long Island City is 3*.From where are you traveling from and how are you arriving to the city (plane, train, bus, car, etc)Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. HamburgAround Posted August 9, 2010 Author Report Posted August 9, 2010 Thanks for your help!We are arriving into NYC by air (LGA), leaving by air also from LGA!I might book the Crowne Plaza LGA despite the mixed reviews at the F&F-rate of 100$, what do you guys think?
AaronJB Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Price-wise, it seems like a good deal for very expensive dates in NYC. Please use the Crowne Plaza link in the site's Travel/Support section if you do go this route.
