CJoe Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Hi,I'm new to the forum and have tried to read as much as possible to acquaint myself with my best strategy to bid for 1 room in the USW area for Aug 3-6.I'd like a 3* plus hotel for a maximum of $90 per night. Obviously I'd like the best hotel I can get for the price.Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks for the great forum.

CJoe Posted July 24, 2010 Author Report Posted July 24, 2010 Thanks for the help.I tried the strategy and was unable to win a bid. I also expanded my area of interest to include USE and use the same bidding ideas and still no luck.I guess I'll have to either increase my max bid or compromise on the location/quality of the hotel.Anybody who is familiar with SF and has any advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks again.

CJoe Posted July 26, 2010 Author Report Posted July 26, 2010 Thanks for the advice.I was open to either USE and USW for this trip. I tried using your advice and was still unsuccessful in my bidding. I even went up to $105USD for my preferred area of USE on a 4* hotel... still no luck. I guess there was just nothing available.I ended up using Travelocity's top secret hotel service and was able to get a 4* hotel for $119 CAD (I'm from Canada). Thanks for taking the time to help me out.I'll definitely use this forum again and people use the Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases and keep this board alive.Cheers.
