chown
I bid on several zones and was not able to get any bites for the dates I amset to be in NYC. My highest bid was $140 for 4* in multiple zones.Thoughts about whether I should keep bidding higher or try priceline again when i am closer to my date of arrival? I've booked "just in case" reservations at Club Quarters Downtown foran average of $134 a night + tax. But I'd rather pay a little more and not bein a 2.5* hotel. Was hoping to get something under $150. Any advice? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!QUICKBOOK has a Queen suite at the Beekman Tower which is probly a beter choice than the Club Quarters.Would you be willing to SPLIT YOUR BID? chown
Thanks for your reply!I would prefer not to split if possible, but may consider it if it leads toconsiderable savings....I looked into the Beekman Towers and the queen suites probably wouldn't workfor us.... I'm traveling with a friend, and would prefer not to share a bed! :) there were other choices that seemed better than club quarters though on the website you linked.. that I will look into.Any guesses on a winning bid price for a 3*? chown
I probably don't want to go over $130 for a 3 staror $150-160 for 4* Link to comment

thereuare
You have two re-bid zones when bidding at the 4* level, if you're not sure of which they are ask for clarification before bidding:Select 4* MTE...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.**I expect the above to fail but might as well try to make sure no low priced inventory has been added between the last time you bid and now**Select 4* MTE and MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone and...Bid $150.Any questions feel free to ask. chown
Thanks for your help thereuare....I tried the bidding you suggested and sadly, I've still been rejected. I even added Midtown Swith no luck.Any suggestions about bidding for a 3*? I'm not sure which area has bad 3* hotel options that I wouldbe better off avoiding, but I think maybe I would be willing to pay up to $130 for a 3*.Any thoughts about bidding strategy? Should I just wait a week or two more and try again? Link to comment
chown
BTW... I tried rebidding adding MTS 4*, to all the other areas bid on previously - and was still rejected up to $165 :) Link to comment

chown
After going all the way to $185 for a 4* MW/ME/UM/CPS/MTS,gave up and started calling hotels directly. Lots of no vacancies for the weekend for hotels with rates just under $200.Bid for 3* in same areas, got rejected at $145Got the Metropolitan Hotel/Doubletree Hilton in MTE for $150. Rated as a 3*.chown Link to comment
