Is there any way to specify? I'd need doubles.THANKS
yellowdog Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding :) Do you also see a Tennis icon for this property? Are the rooms likely to be kings? or doubles (2 beds)? Is there any way to specify? I'd need doubles. No, you can't specify that before you book the rooms. You need to deal with this when you know the hotels name. Can you manage without doubles? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
thereuare Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 I'd need doubles.Do you need more than double occupancy in each room OR because each person in the room would like their own bed? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
camscuba Posted July 23, 2010 Author Report Posted July 23, 2010 Yes, Tennis is nearbyAs for the doubles, there 2 same sex, non-couple rooms in our group. 1st room is for 2- 53 year old women 2nd room is for brothers 23 and 25 year old 3rd room is for a married couple THANKS so very much
thereuare Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 You won't be able to choose the bed type when using PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. However, by increasing the occupancy with HOTWIRE, you can at least ensure separate sleeping accommodations in the room... this usually means 2 separate beds, but it could be one bed plus a rollaway, sofabed, etc.If you change your HOTWIRE search to 3rooms/6adults/6children what appears to be the same 3.5* hotel as above is appearing for $129/nite. While a few dollars more than your search above, this would ensure separate places to sleep for each person in the room.I'll also point out on this search that there is a 4* hotel for $126/nite which has not yet been identified or reported to the board, but it does get high marks from previous HOTWIRE customers (100% recommended and 4.5 or 5.0 ratings across the board for the criteria that HOTWIRE asks for feedback on)Lastly, if you change your search to 3rooms/12adults a 4* hotel appears for $139/nite with:Resort, Beachfront, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Hi-Speed Interent, Business, Laundry, Tennis, Spa(you'll need to click CONTINUE next to this offering, then the 'See all' link above the icons to see the complete listThis one is a match for the Inter-Continental that this would be my best guess for this one. For the most part all of the hotels in San Juan typically get a mixed reviews as it's an expensive hotel market and the service levels are often not up to expectations for the prices paid (it's not that service is 'bad' per se, but more so cultural differences with San Juan being more on "island time" where 'right away, mon' means "i'll get to it, no worries", as opposed to "i'm going to drop everything and take care of this for you immediately" (the latter what many expect for the hotel priece they're often paying) Anyway, i mention the above as while the InterContinental has its flaws just like many of the other hotels, it is often one of the best rated in the area, and has a great pool and beach area. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. camscuba Posted October 23, 2010 Author Report Posted October 23, 2010 Date 12/22-12/23I found a 3.5 star hotel with the following anemities: casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center and high speed internet (I looked in show all and no other anemities were listed and no was provided about a resort fee)6 adults and 6 children with price of $89.00 (I need 3 rooms, 2 beds per room)Do you think that this is the Sheraton Old San Juan ? Marriott San Isla Verde? Or other??THANKS so very much
thereuare Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 This matches previous reports for the Courtyard by Isla Verde so that would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too!
